Welcome to the Wand Wars Project Page. Here you will find updates, news and other important information regarding Wand Wars.

Wand Wars is a plugin for Asheron's Call that allows non-player killers of Asheron’s Call to participate in Deathmatch games. Desgined to use magic as the attack method, each successfull offensive spell landed awards the player with a point. You can specify whether any magic is allowed, or only wand based magic. You can also specify a time limit, or score limit to end games.

It is HIGHLY recommend you view the readme, before playing. You can find it in the installation directory or view it here.

 News

October 25, 2001

Beta 1 of Wand Wars has been made available. You can download the plugin here. The readme included with the install has documentation on starting and playing Wand War matches. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please feel free to post on our forums. Check back frequently for updates.

 Known Issues

  1. Wand Wars has been tested with the other versions. Please verify that you are running 1.1.0.0. Also make sure that you have the latest versions of both memlocs.xml and messages.xml. Both files can be updated by clicking on the "Update" button in the DenAgent.
  2. You need to go to your options screen and turn off the option: "Stay in Chat Mode after sending a Message". If you don't, sometimes weird things can happen.
  3. Sometimes after getting a score, you might deselect the target.
  4. If you are playing an any spell game, and you use a ring spell, you might get multiple messages for mulitple hits. However, you may only get one point.
  5. If playing a wand only game, I recommend you find a lvl 1 war wand with A LOT of mana. These wands burn through mana very quickly and you are at a real disadvantage reloading your wand in the middle of a fight. :)

 Future Plans

  1. DirectPlay as an option. This will allow for a greater number of players, and game types.
  2. Complete control of over the types of spells allowed.
  3. Game area boundaries.
  4. Teams
  5. More to come...

We hope you enjoy using Wand Wars. Please feel free to let us know what you think on the forums or by email to abutler@seraphimstudios.com.
